http://gulfnews.com/news/world/uk-royal-seeks-holistic-therapy-in-india-1.1097201 Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall and wife of Prince Charles, is currently in India for a seven-day holistic healing session.

Having arrived with her daughter, Laura Lopes, and eight personal staff last Saturday (October 27), the Duchess is attending healing sessions at Soukya (http://www.soukya.com/), a Bangalore-based health centre headed by Indian holistic physician, Dr Issac Mathai.

A representative from the health centre told Gulf News that Camilla has been undergoing treatments in ayurveda, homeopathy and naturopathy, including yoga, mud therapy and hydrotherapy. She is also on a South Indian vegetarian diet during her week-long stay at the medical centre’s 30-acre farm.

Upon her arrival, the duchess was received by Ian Felton, the British Deputy High Commissioner in Bangalore. She then checked into Soukya, which is located in the Whitefield area of Banglore.

Representatives from the holistic health centre refused to comment on the status of Camilla’s health or the details of her visit to the treatment facility. They did however confirm that she was not accompanied by Prince Charles.

Dr Mathai has been a health advisor to the British royal family for the past two years, and has arranged for a presidential suite for the royal guests.

Soukya’s representative added that Camilla had first come to Bangalore in September 2010, during Prince Charles’ trip to India to inaugurate the Commonwealth Games. At the time, she had underwent a five-day rejuvenation session at the centre.

Last year, Prince Charles, as founder of the Royal College of Integrated Medicine in London, also met with Dr Mathai to discuss the means of training doctors in ayurveda, homeopathy and other traditional forms of medicine.
