Homeopathy is a 200-year-old system of medicine used successfully by tens of millions worldwide.  It is part of the public health care systems of nations in Europe, South America and Asia.  It has a laudable two-century clinical record.

There are hundreds of high-quality basic science, pre-clinical and clinical studies showing it works.  It is one of the fastest-growing forms of health care in Canada and around the world, and has recently become a regulated health profession in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is vastly safer than conventional medicine.

No form of health care can claim such accomplishments without being effective.

But there are very wealthy and powerful vested interests whose profits and power would be compromised if homeopathy were to become fully known and accepted for what it is by the public. They want to make sure that doesn’t happen, and they’re willing to spread lies to do it.

ECHAMP stands for European Coalition on Homeopathic and Anthroposophic Medicinal Products and represents the vast majority of the industry of homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products in Europe. ECHAMP’s main aim is an appropriate legal and regulatory framework in order to achieve free and easy availability of these medicinal products in the European Union.

Homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products cover a broad portfolio of effective, safe and high quality medicines derived mostly from natural substances. ECHAMP is a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG) of companies active in the production and distribution of those products. ECHAMP stands for European Coalition on Homeopathic and Anthroposophic Medicinal Products.

ECHAMP was founded in 1999 by 25 founder members, and has grown significantly since then to 54 full company members, 14 corresponding members (being practitioners’ and patients’ organisations) and 10 associated members (being national manufacturers’ associations). ECHAMP represents the majority of the manufacturers of Europe’s homeopathic and anthroposophic industry, in the year 2006 amounting to 963 million Euros in turnover, 8,000 employees and more than 110 million active users throughout the EU Member States. We endorse the rights of patients and consumers to have easy and comprehensive access to homeopathic and anthroposophic medicinal products which meet the highest standards of quality, safety and effectiveness.
